On Saturday, October 4th, the A Caring Touch Home Care team joined hundreds of others throughout San Diego for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. This is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk unites families, friends, and caregivers in a powerful movement to end this disease. It was a beautiful day filled with hope, connection, and purpose, walking side-by-side with loved ones, families, clients, and fellow supporters who share our commitment.
Today, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million family members and friends provide unpaid care.
Additionally, about 80% of adults with Alzheimer’s or related dementias receive care in their own homes, reflecting how many people rely on home- and community-based support. CDC
